Founder, Schumm Associates
Dr Herb Schumm is a family physician by training and an administrator by experience. After ten years of private practice, he served as a CMO and then a medical group president in Lima, OH.
In 2016 Herb transitioned to a system role leading provider professional development with a focus on physician well-being and learning with Mercy Health now Bon Secours Mercy Health.
He retired for the first time in November 2022 and founded Schumm Associates which focuses on health and ministry professional wellness and leadership.
Herb has served as Chair of the Huntington University Board of Trustees. He recently completed Huntington’s MBA program with a focus on leadership coaching.
Dr. Schumm serves on the Coalition for Physician Well-Being Board and the Catholic Health Association’s Wellness Task Force.
Herb recently achieved accreditation as an Associate Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Herb and his wife, Paula, live in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area. They have been married over 40 years and have two adult children.
